The Practical Experience Pathway, a New Route for Certification

Who is eligible? 

Uncertified Anesthesia Techs who have experience working in the field of Anesthesia Technology

How do I qualify?

  • You must have 5 years of experience working as an Anesthesia Tech in the United States at a Level 1 or Level 2 Facility OR 7 years of experience working as an Anesthesia Tech in a Tertiary or Outpatient Facility
  • You must have taken Anatomy and Physiology I & II and General Chemistry at a regionally accredited educational facility within the last 7 years, and received a grade of C or higher. 
  • You must obtain 40 Continuing Education credits under several specific topics, as listed in the Practical Experience Pathways Brochure

Once you have collected verification of employment history, transcripts from the three courses, and proof of 40 CEUs, please compile your documentation and submit the Practical Experience Pathway Application with payment. Once your application has been approved, you will have 12 months in which you are eligible to take the National Certification Exam.
